Who put the gas pedal there? A car came through the front of this Family Dollar and punched a hole clean through the stone wainscot, with the broken pieces still sitting on the sidewalk when I got there. This is more common than you may think. We've repaired many masonry structures damaged by cars.

We excel at this type of project because we have many years of experience not only with masonry but also with general construction. The damage on this one did not stop at the stone. It extended through the building framing and into the interior. So we opened it up, rebuilt the framing, got new sheathing on it, and only then went back to laying stone. One contractor, whole repair.

While we were there we looked the rest of the building over. It had other damage that included stones falling off and some water damage on the corner, where the rain gutter above was leaking out onto the stone. We gave the customer a written assessment: every issue we found, and the repair option for each one. That included fixing the source of the water damage, and adding curbing so a vehicle cannot reach the stone again. We repaired the gutter, not just the stone under it.

Some older stones are no longer available. Understandably, the customer did not want to replace the entire front of the building just to get a perfect match. The size and shape are very close, and we laid it in the original mason's pattern so it reads with the rest of the wall. We also repaired many small locations around the building where stones had fallen off and mortar joints that were cracking at no additional cost.

Building corner stripped back to the mortar scratch coat with new lighter stone set on the return — The stone on this corner eroded from water leaking out of the rain gutter above. We not only repaired the stone but also repaired the rain gutter to avoid the same problem in the future.
