Patio upgrade

A failing brick patio rebuilt with stone-veneered planter columns and a full-width stone step, ending the awkward high step down to the driveway.

This patio was falling apart, and the customer wanted to avoid the awkward high step down to the driveway. The brick edge along the front had come loose and was crumbling off, and there was nothing between the patio and the asphalt but a long drop.

We formed and poured a new full-width step off the front, built up planter boxes at each end and against the house, and wrapped it all in lath ready for stone.

While the boxes were still open we ran water and drains into them, so whatever gets planted can be watered and drain properly instead of turning into a bathtub.

Then the stone went on, with cast caps on the columns and the step, and the whole front now steps down easy instead of all at once. All done.
