Forklift versus block wall

A concrete block wall punched through by a forklift: damaged block cut out, new block laid in, then painted to match.

When a forklift driver is texting his buddies about the weekend plans, this is what the building gets. The forks came through the outside of the wall and kept going, so from inside you could see cracked block shoved into the room and pieces of it on the floor.

Step one was taking out everything that was damaged. Cracked block does not get patched, it gets removed, and the removal always opens up a little more than the dent on the outside suggests.

Step two, new block laid into the opening on the same coursing so the joints line up with what is already there. Step three, paint, and done.

The last photo is the whole point: you cannot tell where it happened.

Step 1: Remove all damaged blocks
New concrete blocks laid into the opening with fresh mortar joints, not yet painted
Step 2: Install new blocks.
Repaired block wall painted to match the rest, with no sign of where the damage was
Step 3: Paint and done!
